John Davies completed his undergraduate studies in sociology and psychology while attending the University of Alberta in his hometown of Edmonton, Alberta. He then earned an M.A. and a Ph.D. in mass communication from BYU and the University of Alabama, respectively. After serving a full-time LDS mission to Japan, Davies returned to Japan to teach English, an experience that became an important stepping stone in his academic career. In 2008, Davies joined the Department of Communications faculty at BYU and teaches classes on communications research and media processes and effects.
Austin is a master’s student in the Department of Communications at BYU. He graduated with an undergraduate degree in Advertising from BYU, and he currently teaches a communications course at Salt Lake Community College. He recently returned from a six-week trip to Namibia where he conducted research on a native tribe for his master’s thesis.
Liliya is a master’s student in the Department of Communications at BYU. She graduated with an undergraduate degree in Public Relations from BYU, did her internships in California, Washington D.C. and Utah. Currently she does public relations and marketing for the BYU Kennedy Center, assists BYU professors with their research and works on her master's thesis.
